Tanvi Srivastava is the translator of The War Diary of Asha-san written by Lt Bharati ‘Asha’ Sahay Choudhry (HarperCollins India 2022).

She also writes fiction and was a member of the 2021 cohort of the Write Beyond Borders programme funded by the British Council. She has been published in journals like The Bombay Literary Magazine, Asymptote, Kitaab, Gulmohar Quarterly, New Anthology of Asian Writing, The Reading Hour and others. She is a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and lives in Bangalore, India, with her husband and two children.

About Asha-san

Lt Bharati ‘Asha’ Sahay Choudhry was a member of Netaji’s Rani of Jhansi Regiment (INA). She unfortunately passed away in August 2025.

She was a hero to all of us and is dearly missed.

About Tanvi Srivastava

Tanvi lives in Bangalore, India, and is working on her next book—the story of Anand Mohan Sahay and Sati Sahay, parents of Asha-san. She also runs an African safari company with her mother and her aunt.
